Saturday 26th August 2006. Mossdale Away. 42/38 overs game.
LTCC invited to bat first on a damp wicket. Zaheer 102, to reach his first ton of the season. Good controlled knock was then run out by Steve. Steve 105no and Zaheer put on 192 for the first wicket in 36 overs. They had to work hard for their runs as the boundary was set far out and the grass was damp from the over night rain. Zaheer hitting 11 fours and 1 six. Steve 8 fours and 2 sixes. Jay 0 caught at the wicket fell one over later. Andy P promoted to number 4 moved a lot of air but only connected with 1 ball which gave him 4no. When Steve reached his 100 in the 40th over, Mick declared with the score on 232 for 2.
Chris V 10 overs 5 maidens 4 for 18 bowled really well after his 1st over went for 9. Catches for keeper Andrew, Zaheer and a C&B. A lovely slower ball accounting for their number 4. At 48 for 4 in the 20th over Mossdale were never going to reach the LTCC total. Tony 9 overs 3 maidens 0for 26 got the odd one to spin and bounce. Brian 6 overs 1 for 15, a stumping for Andrew. Amos 5 good overs, 2 maidens 0 for 6 with a difficult chance going between keeper and slip. Andy P 5 overs 3 maidens 0 for 3 and Mick M 5 overs 1 maiden 1 for 18 completed the bowling as Mossdale batted out for the draw closing on 93 for 6. Good time was had in the bar after the game.Saturday 19th August 2006. Medical Nomads Home 40 overs game.
Stand-in skipper Tony lost the toss and Medics decided to bat.
Chris Yarrow, a new addition to the club had 6 useful overs for 16 runs and was unlucky not to pick up any wickets as he moved the ball about. Tony 6 tight overs for 14 restricted the visitors to 30 off the first 12 overs. Owen fielded well to run out one of the openers, Ollie did the same with the other opener. Amos 6 overs for 22 kept up the good work bowling swing. Dale 7 overs 2 for 23 bowled a fine line and length inducing 2 of 3 catches for Chris Y. Mike B 6 overs for 13 kept the pressure on.
Young Harry Giannini, another new player had 1 for 25 from 5 overs, 3rd catch for Chris Y. Another run out then George had 2 quick overs costing 21 as the batsmen chanced their arm and the ball flew at pace. Ollie 2 overs for 15. Medics 156 for 6 in 40 overs.
Lovely tea by Mike B. Shame he took so much home as we wanted to tuck in to what was left after the game at the pub.
John M 38 not out played a magnificent innings to guide young Ollie to 113 not out. “It’s like batting with Z, pinches the strike on the 6th ball,” quoted John, bitterly. Ollie reached 50 as John played calmly for 7. Both gave 1 caught chance each with the score well up in the 90s. At 100 off 20 overs the skies were darkening. The remaining 60 runs were scored in 5 overs as Ollie and John uped the tempo giving us a 10 wicket victory in 25 overs. Just as we finished tidying up the rains came.
Sunday 13th August 2006. Westbury on Severn home 30 overs per side due to rain.

Makes a change from the usual batsman’s paradise.
Grand tea provided by Ian, which was much appreciated by everyone.
The usual good time was enjoyed by all in the bar. The evening closing with Tony giving a heart-wrenching rendition of The Fisherman’s Song with assembled masses joining in the chorus and Clive’s animated and vigorous performance of Alouetta.

Braunstone decided to bat first and lost their 1st wicket off the first ball with the non-striker being run out by Amos and Dan. Down Hatherley guest Paul 8 overs for 39 and Tony 8 overs for 20 restricted Braunstone to 60 off 16 overs. Mick M took 2 wickets for 13 in 5.1 overs, before colliding with Dan who took the catch. Mick had a cut eye as a result of the clash and had to go to hospital to be stitched and glued. Stand-in Skipper Tony immediately called up Steve our “specialist” breakdown bowler who stepped to the plate and had a tidy 0.5 over spell for 3 runs. George bowled 5 overs 1 for 26 with a bag of no-balls. Amos 3 overs for 24. Chris V bowled well to claim 3 for 19 off 6 overs. Catches for George and Martin. Amos effected his 2nd run out of the match. Martin our other visitor from Down Hatherley bowled 4 overs for 14. Braunstone 159 for 8 in 40 overs. Mark Bindley 103 not out.
